Dream On

That is the name of my other class for June. Here are two of the cards for the class. The first one I call an Easel card with a twist. It started out to be a simple half fold card. I just kept adding to it and it turned into this. I had to take 3 pictures to show it in different stages. The card stock is bazzill Brown and Parakeet (2 of my favorite colors). The patterned paper is from the Brook collection by Crate Paper. Stamps are by Jillibean and Crafty Secrets. The next card is also using the same papers and tools and just a simple Happy Birthday stamp. I used the forest branches cuttlebug embossing folder and scalloped circles spellbinders for both cards. I used a fiskars border punch for the decorative edge on this card.

The flower basket I posted in my May 11th post will also be part of this class as well as a gift tag. I will post that in another post.

Thanks for visiting my blog. Happy Crafting!!!

Car Classics

We just got this brand new stamp set from Crafty Secrets in at work and I couldn't resist. These two cards will be part of a class I will be teaching in June at Scrap Arts. I'm not sure of the dates yet but I will post them as soon as I know.

I really wanted to try a side step card and here is what I came up with. All the stamps are from the new stamp set and I used black and white bazzill and the patterned red paper is from the Fancy Pants Rusted Sun collection. I colored the car and the flag with red watercolor pencil and went over it with an aqua brush. I could have used my prisma's but I wanted a worn vintage look and I used a fine black marker to go over a few details on the car. The rest of the items are stamped and cut out and some are layered on black card stock. I'm really happy with how it turned out.

For this card I wanted that old vintage black and white comic strip look. The entire background is all done with a variety of stamps from the set. I just kept filling up the spaces with as many stamps as I could fit. I then stamped my main image and twisted the layering pieces to give it a different look. The solid blocks of black add a bit of impact to the card. I edged all the pieces with Black Versa Magic ink.
I have 2 more items for this class and will post as soon as I get the pictures and details ready. Also have another class coming in June and will post those pics soon as well.
Until then, Happy Crafting.

Updates on older posts

OK so I promised I'd update a couple of posts as soon as I figured out some colors. For the post on April 10th the colors I used on the cat image were sand for most of the image and jasmine for the eyes (prisma markers). For the Mother's Day card I posted the on Sunday here are the rest of the details. For coloring the image the prisma markers I used were french grey 20%, light walnut, eggshell, jasmine, deco pink, walnut and cold stone. I also used a sakura clear stardust pen on her wings and the flowers. The patterned paper is from the 3bugs in a rug Little Chick line and the card stock is bazzill ruby red & african daisy.

The latest project on Stamp TV was so very cute I just had to give it a try. Here is my version of what Gina K. did. Not too bad for my first attempt at it. I didn't have any flowers to put in mine. The patterned papers are from the Crate Paper Brook Collection and the card stock is bazzill brown & parakeet. The stamps are from Crafty Secrets.
I've been in my studio quite a bit this last week and where I go Kit must follow. Here she is helping with some stuff I was working on last week. I think I need a bigger desk. This one just isn't big enough for the both of us. Not to mention all the mess I make while I'm working LOL.

Happy Mother's Day!

I remembered all my Moms this morning and yesterday. I have a few. So now I'm wishing all the other Moms out there a wonderful day.
Here is one of the Mother's day cards I made this week. This is using a new stamp we got in at Scrap Arts. It is Spring Birgitta by Swiss Pixies. I'm not usually a fan of these stamps because I find it disturbing that these cuties don't have any mouths or noses LOL, but this one is really cute. I thought the little bunny in her arms made for a good Mother's Day image. I will put up more details on this card tomorrow, when I have more time.

Until then, have a great evening and Happy Crafting!

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!!!

What a busy day today. I've spent the last few days helping move Scrap Arts to our new location. It was a lot of work but we opened today!
I haven't had much time to get in my studio yet but here is a card I made a couple of months ago. Another card with my Bombshell stamps. I colored her with my Prisma Markers and then cut the image out. I then traced around all the edges with a black marker (hides all cutting flaws). There is a pattern on the waistband of her outfit so I added pearls to it. I only had white pearls so I colored them red with the same prisma marker I used on her outfit...perfect match. The patterned paper if from the Basic Grey Boxer line and the card stock is Bazzill.

I totally plan to spend Monday in my craft room and will post some new projects soon. Until then happy crafting everyone!
