Retail Therapy

It has been rough couple of weeks and I haven't had time to do any crafts or even get in my craft room.  So yesterday I finally got a chance to get out for a bit and decided I needed a little retail therapy.  These are the goodies I got at Scrap Arts.  The paper is 12x12 paper is from Pink Paislee & Girls Paperie.  The 6x6 paper pack is from Pink Paislee called butterfly garden.  I also picked up 3 Distress inks (rusty hinge, barn door & shabby shutters), a new glaze pen and a sponge.
Here is a picture of Kit helping me unpack my new goodies!

Well I'm glad April is mostly over and I am looking forward to May and some warmer weather and some more time to craft.  Thanks for stopping by and until next time Happy Crafting everyone!

Easter Card Contest!!

This is the card I made for the Easter Card contest at Scrap Arts.  I actually got it finished and turned in on time!!!  I am also going to submit it to The Paper Shelter Challenge as well.

For this project I decided to try the easel twist style card.  The image is a digi stamp from the Paper Shelter.  I colored it with copic markers (BG10, BG13, RV10, RV13, R02, R20, E41, E42, E43, Y11, Y13, E21, E25, E29, N1, N3 & 0). I also used a clear glaze pen over zipper pull & decorations on the eggs (you can't tell in picture).  The buttons on the top section of the card are stitched on with embroidery floss and the ones on the bottom are attached with glue dots.  The ribbon was white so I colored it the copic marker RV10 to match the image.  Some of the buttons were also colored with copics to match the image.  The patterned paper is from the 3bugsinarug little chick line.  I also used spellbinders labels two and a fiskars edge punch.

I'm having so much fun with these challenges I might have to go find another one to work on tonight. If I get one done I will post it in a day or two.  Thanks for visiting my blog.  Until next time have a great week & happy crafting everyone.

Paper Shelter Challenge

I finally got a chance to get in my studio last night and create a card.  April is such a busy month for me that I don't get to spend much time in my studio.  I'm hoping to sneak back in there after I finish this post.  I'm working on a Easter card for a contest that is due tomorrow.

I did however get this card done for The Paper Shelter challenge this week.  This was an easy challenge because it was anything goes!!!  I had so much fun with this card.  They have some of the cutest digi stamps at the Paper Shelter.  I've bought several but this "goth girl" is one of my favorites.  I colored her with copic markers (R22, R27, R29, E000, E00, E01, N1, N3, N5) I also used a black memento & sakura stardust pen for accents on her belt & purse.  I added black pearls & rhinestones to her belt & headband.  The patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye.  I used the out of the box die cut technique again with the large and small labels nestabilities from spellbinders.
Well I guess I better get to work on that other card if I want to turn it in at Scrap Arts for the contest tomorrow.  I will post that card some time this weekend if I actually get it finished.

Have a great weekend everyone and happy crafting.
