Inchies Book!

So along with all the inchies we made in class we also created this cute little book to display them in.  The book will hold up to 36 inchies.  Well I don't have enough to fill it yet but I certainly will have before too long.  Here are a couple of pics.

I used the back side of the patterned paper (which was mostly a distressed white/cream design).  I edged it with wild honey distress ink and stamped some designs on it with the wild honey and rusty hinge ink.  I made the inchie on the front.  The title pieces were provided (lots of different ones to choose from).

This was a great class and I had so much fun.  I think I will take a few more classes as well.  It is so much fun to go and relax and have fun learning some new techniques.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend everyone.  If you are looking for more information on this class or some others pop over to the
Scrap Arts Blog.

Fabulous Inchies!

So I took the "Incredible Inchies & Inchie Holder" class at Scrap Arts yesterday,  so much fun!!!  My friend Naomi & I had a blast making inchies.  We even stayed late and made extras!  While I was at Scrap Arts I just had to buy the Grand Madison window die (hooray!!! I've been wanting this for months).  I also got my stamps from Alpha stamps (the ones I won from the Altered Alice challenge) in the mail today.  I can't wait to use these for the next Altered Alice challenge.

So here are my inchies I made yesterday.  Now some of these have gold foil and glitter pen etc. on them that just doesn't show up in the pictures.  Some of these are made with images that were printed out and others are done with postage stamps, patterned paper, stamps, inks etc. I also added some pearls, rhinestones and glitter pen, gold leaf foil & charms.

I will post the little book that we made to hold the inchies tomorrow night.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great Friday everyone.

Once Upon A Springtime....

I decided to get out the distress inks and a bunch of stamps and create a collage piece.  I'm not sure what exactly I'm going to use it for.  Maybe a card or an album cover but I can't decide.  So until I come up with something more I'm just going to post it as is.

I started out with white card stock and inked it up with a bunch of different distress inks (tumbled glass, broken china, shabby shutters & spun sugar).  I used a variety of stamps and colors to create the background.  I then stamped the fairy and mushroom on white paper and colored them with copics.  I cut them out and glued them to the background.

Updated info - July 26th, 2012

Stamps used to create this image
Script text background - Inkadinkado - broken china distress ink
Flourish scrolls up the side of the card - Basic Grey (flourish corners set) peeled paint distress ink
Tall mushrooms (peeled paint) butterfly (broken china), Once Upon a Springtime (chipped sapphire) and fairy (memento tuxedo black) are all from the Hampton Arts Graphic 45 stamp sets Once upon a springtime 1 & 3.
The mushroom (memento tuxedo black) the fairy is standing on is from the Crafty Secrets Fairyland stamp set.

I colored the mushroom and fairy with copic markers and cut them out and glued them to the background piece. Copic colors - E00, E01, E02 - Y21, Y26 - YG00, YG21 - G000, BG0000 - B000, B01, & B02.
I also used sakura sky star and golden star glitter pens.

Hooray for Rain!!!

I love nice sunny days …. But, every so often we do need some rain.  Especially the gardens, also I tend to wilt with too much warm weather.  So I was quite pleased to see the rain today.  It was actually cool enough to spend some time in my craft room.  Here is the card I made today.

This little robot is a stamp from an old Sandylion set I have (I don't know the name of the set).  I stamped him with black memento ink and colored him with copics (N), N1, N3, BG70, BG72, YG25, Y38, B24 & B29).  You can't see it in the photo but I also used a clear glaze pen to accent some of the buttons and bolts on him.  The patterned paper is from the 6x6 boys only paper pad by doodlebug designs.  I cut the image and mat out with spellbinders large & small labels.  The greeting stamp (Amy R's "it's your birthday" set by CC designs) is stamped with Ranger archival ink and popped up with 3d foam dots.  I added a few brads to match the colors in the paper for a little extra detail. I edged the patterned papers and image with versa magic night sky chalk ink.

I am still suffering from a little crafter’s block so next week I am taking a class at Scrap Arts.  I figure it is a good way to get something done and learn some new tips and tricks.   I always seem find my crafting mojo after I take a class.  I promise to post pics of what I make in the class.

I’ll be back tomorrow night with another post.  Thanks for stopping by.

Classes

I have some people who are wondering about when I will be teaching my next class. Well I hope to have a Christmas Card class (yes...I'm thinking about that already) designed and ready to go for September.  I would say August but, I'm waiting for some new stamps to arrive and it will be a couple of weeks and I will need some time to design.  I also need to see what times are available at Scrap Arts.

As soon as I have samples and dates I will post them here & on my schedule page!

Thanks

More Photos!!!

So Summer finally arrived this week and it has been a hot one so far.  Unfortunately my craft studio is the hottest room in the place and I haven't spent any time in there this week.  I did manage to have a lovely afternoon out last Sunday with my wonderful hubby.  A trip to the beach, some shopping and a lovely dinner at a fabulous new place Pier 7 here in North Vancouver.  So I don't have a card or 2 posts for this week, I will have 3 posts for next week though with some new craft projects.  I really need to restock my card inventory so I should have some fun new stuff to post.

I did take my camera with me on Sunday so I have a couple of pics from my trip and another picture I took in the gardens a couple of months ago.  It is actually cool enough to sit at my computer and play with photoshop.  Anyhow, here are the pics and I'll be back in a few days with another project.

Thanks for visiting my blog, have a great week everyone!

Go, Go Gadget Girl!!!

Well I'm back with my second post for this week.  I know I'm posting them both on the same day but, I really didn't have time earlier this week.  Here is the card I made tonight with of my new Kraftin' Kimmie stamps I got a few weeks ago.  Gadget Girl is one of my favorites - as soon as I saw this stamp I knew I had to have it.  I'm getting quite a collection of Kraftin' Kimmie stamps now (20 or so....ssshhh! don't tell my hubby LOL!). The challenge this week is to use your favorite stamp but, with so many cute stamps how can you choose?  My biggest problem is that I usually buy all my favorite stamps (and there are still lots more on my wish list LOL) and so, I love them all. Anyhow, I wanted to try something different with this card, some crazy bright patterns, colors & shapes.  This is way out of my comfort zone and I'm not sure about the card but I had fun with it.

I stamped the image and greetings with black memento ink and colored the image with copic markers (I will update color list tomorrow - I don't have the list in front of me ATM).  I paper pieced the foot stool with red patterned paper (all the patterned paper for this card is from the Basic Grey "Shine On" 6x6 paper pad) and then shaded it with copic markers N1 & N3, so that it blends into the picture better. I edged the image piece and the patterned papers with red magic versa magic chalk ink.  I colored the buttons and the pearls with copic markers YG25, BG75 & YR23.  The pearls kind of get lost in the picture but they show up really well on the card in person.

Well it's late and I need to get some sleep so that's it for tonight.  I hope everyone has a great week.  I"ll add the copic list tomorrow.  Thanks for stopping by and until next time happy crafting everyone!

What A Week!!!

It has been a crazy busy week and I am just getting a chance to update my blog.  I do have 2 posts for the week, that I am posting tonight.  I haven't posted any of my photographs in a very long time.  So that will be post #1 for this week.  We had some nice weather a few weeks ago and I took a walk with my camera.  The sun was out and the flowers were in bloom so I got some great shots.  Here are a couple of my favorites.

I'll be back later with another post.
